Duck on River Burn in South Creake, Norfolk

The perfect Norfolk getaway

South Creake, Norfolk A different pace in a beautiful place

The Ostrich Inn is situated 30 miles North-West of Norwich in the small village of South Creake, conveniently located between Burnham Market village and market town Fakenham. With Burnham Market’s boutiques and galleries and Fakenham’s oldest established outdoor markets in the country, there is something to do for everyone.

Our inn stands proudly opposite the village green, through which runs the River Burn. The North Norfolk coast is a short drive away with a number of stunning beaches to discover. Two of these are Wells-next-the-Sea with its pastel coloured beach huts and Brancaster where kite surfers and dog walkers gather in equal measure.

Further to the West, you will find the Hanseatic Town of Kings Lynn when passing the Royal Estate of Sandringham. A place rich in history and heritage, and just over 90 mins by train from London Kings Cross.

The North Norfolk coastline

Holkham Beach Three miles of pure shores

The jewel in the crown is Holkham Beach & Nature Reserve, part of the Holkham Estate. This is one not to be missed and can be found less than 10 miles north of our inn.

Three miles of coastline provide a home to a number of rare species of flora and fauna. Behind the shoreline lies a semi-circular basin, which at very high tides rapidly fills to form a spectacular shallow lagoon.
